This established engineering solution provider is currently looking for a Principal or Senior Civil / Structural Engineer for their Whangarei base.  The technical deliverables include calculations, design work for various projects and general management responsibilities.

Key duties include:

• Design and analysis of structural steel buildings or as appropriate
• Preparation of calculations, written reports and checking of contract drawings
• Staff Management including reviewing calculations by other engineers
• Liaison with clients and involvement in progress and design review meetings
• Project management, including cost/commercial aspects of projects
• Monitoring of Health and Safety

Qualifications and background requirements for the position include:

• A degree in Civil Engineering  (MSc Civil Engineering)
• Previous experience within a cold form steel environment is essential
• An excellent understanding of the requirements regarding the risk assessment process
• Ability to work in a multi – disciplinary team
• Strong IT skills and excellent communication both verbal and written English
